Former Manchester City and England striker Daniel Sturridge has reportedly signed up to join this year’s edition of Strictly Come Dancing.

The Sun claim that the ex-Chelsea and Liverpool man will take to the ballroom later this year as part of the iconic BBC show. And it might be the perfect move for the 33-year-old free agent who was known to throw a shape or two to celebrate his goals.

Sturridge has been without a club since June of last year when he left Perth Glory. The 26-cap England international has seen the latter part of his career derailed by injuries.

The frontman scored six goals in 32 appearances for City at the start his career before leaving for Chelsea in 2009 and winning the Champions League with Liverpool in 2019.

The first group of well-known faces who will compete on the 21st season of the dancing competition were revealed on BBC One's The One Show on Friday night , with actress Amanda Abbington and Bad Education actor Layton Williams announced alongside broadcasting legend Angela Rippon. Journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy was later revealed to be the fourth celebrity.
