Manchester City will hope to continue their excellent start to 2024 when they travel to Bournemouth on Saturday. Pep Guardiola's side beat Brentford on Tuesday to record their 12th win of a 14-game unbeaten run, stretching back to December 10.
City were made to fight hard for their 1-0 win at home to the Bees, with Erling Haaland finally opening his account against them in his fourth attempt. Thomas Frank's side offered a stern test once again but the hosts managed to close the gap on league leaders Liverpool to just one point.
Liverpool host Luton Town on Wednesday and are expected to open up a four-point gap once again, but Jurgen Klopp's side are in the Carabao Cup final this weekend and so the gap can be closed and pressure heaped on with victory on the south coast.
City have enjoyed a good spell when it comes to player fitness in recent weeks but Guardiola is not without any issues. Bournemouth will be missing a few players of their own and below, ManchesterWorld has taken a look at who could be absent come Saturday.
1. Philip Billing (suspended)
Billing picked up a straight red card against Nottingham Forest earlier this month and will serve the final game of his three-match ban on Saturday.
2. Romain Faivre (illness)
Missed last week's 2-2 draw at Newcastle but is expected to be fit and ready this weekend.
3. Max Aarons (hamstring)
Right-back pulled his hamstring against Liverpool in January, with Iraola admitting he'll 'be out for some time'.
4. James Hill (ankle)
Sprained his ankle late last month and not expected to return until mid-March.
