Man Utd and Man City were both in action over a reduced Premier League weekend schedule.

Only half of the 20 Premier League teams had fixtures over a reduced weekend of football but both Manchester United and Manchester City were in action. Teams are currently enjoying a brief winter break and those who did not feature will play this coming weekend.

City went to Newcastle on Saturday evening and left it late to snatch all three points, Oscar Bobb scoring a brilliant goal to make it 3-2 and complete the comeback, following Kevin De Bruyne's equaliser. United were the home side over the weekend, hosting Champions League-chasing Tottenham and earning a 2-2 draw with goals from Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford. Despite the easing of fixtures, there was still plenty of VAR controversy to unpick across the five games, most notably Alex Moreno's disallowed goal for Aston Villa and claims of a foul on Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford in the build-up to Luton's late equaliser at Burnley.
