Manchester United and Manchester City have both been active this month as they prepare for the Premier League run-in.

After a month of ins, outs and speculation, the January transfer window slammed shut at 11pm on Thursday evening. It was quiet month among Premier League teams compared to previous years, with concerns over profitability and sustainability rules widespread.

Manchester United and Manchester City were both active in the market, although marquee arrivals were not forthcoming. For Erik ten Hag it was about trimming the fat of his squad with loan exits while Pep Guardiola planned for the future.
