Both goals came from set pieces as Ethan Pye gave the Hatters the lead after 44 minutes, before Kyle Wootton added a second four minutes from time. The result moved last season’s League Two champions into fifth in League One with 15 points from the opening eight games.
Challinor said: “I’m delighted we’ve won and sometimes a Tuesday night it can be difficult with the turnaround. But I’m frustrated with our performance and have been pretty frustrated since the start of the season. Because we've shown glimpses, we’ve shown signs, but not shown them over an extended period.

There have been little bits, but I want to see a little bit more. We’re doing ourselves a disservice at times not being able to perform over the 90 minutes rather than in fits and starts.”
Challinor revealed he was forced to make six changes due to the short turnaround after Saturday night’s 1-1 draw at Barnsley.
He said: “The quality and the depth of our squad will give us real options and hopefully real possibilities in terms of going to be successful.”
There was also a positive injury update regarding Will Collar, who missed out on the trip to New Meadow after sustaining a hamstring injury in Saturday’s match at Oakwell.

And Challinor revealed Louie Barry, who has five goals in eight league games since he rejoined the Hatters on loan from Aston Villa, had been struggling with illness. County return to action on Saturday afternoon when they host 14th-placed Wigan Athletic.
