Barbie pop-up lands at Trafford Centre ahead of much-anticipated movie with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling

To celebrate the hottest movie release of the summer, Selfridges’ Barbie pop-up has landed in-store at The Trafford Centre.

The eagerly-anticipated Barbie movie had its premiere on Wednesday night (July 12) in London’s Leicester Square with a star studded pink carpet.
The fantasy film stars actor Margot Robbie as Barbie and a bleached blonde Ryan Gosling as Ken, and follows the plastic pair as they leave Barbie Land behind and travel to the human world.
It was directed by Greta Gerwig, and will be out in cinemas on 21 July.
Joining Robbie and Gosling in the cast are numerous other talented stars including actors Emma Mackey and Simu Liu. They will portray various versions of Barbie and Ken.
When asked about how the movie will change the perception of Barbie, Robbie said: “I think that’s been changing and shifting over the years multiple times. I think sometimes Barbie has been ahead of the times, sometimes she’s been behind the times majorly.”
The Barbie pop up launched on the upper level of Selfridges on July 3 - There is the opportunity for a selfie moment, a Barbie dreamhouse on display and product from Mattel including eight lines from the movie.
There is also Tutu du Monde fancy dress styles in the kids area.
