And ahead of this much anticipated event, Slot Tracker has revealed Hamilton’ (2015) is the most streamed musical album with over 5.6 billion streams -three times more than Mamma Mia in second place (1.5 billion).

The much loved and critically acclaimed musical will be running from November 11 through to February 2 at The Palace Theatre.

Written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hamilton is billed as “the story of America then, told by America now”.

The ground-breaking production takes the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton to create a revolutionary moment in theatre and is loved by fans due to its fresh approach to musical theatre, making use of hip-hop, R&B, and other contemporary music styles to tell a historical story.

Notorious for the diversity of its cast in portraying the Founding Fathers, it has been hailed as a musical having a profound impact on culture, politics, and education.

The show won a number of impressive awards including The Olivier, Tony, Grammy and Pulitzer.

It’s most streamed song is ‘Alexander Hamilton’ with over 263 million streams, almost double the streams of ‘Mamma Mia!’s most streamed song ‘Lay all your love on me’.

‘Mamma Mia!’ takes second place with 1,587,994,591 streams. ‘Mamma Mia!’ is the jukebox musical which premiered in London’s West End in 1999, paying tribute to Abba’s much-loved music from the 1970s.

Not only does Hamilton have the most streamed album, but the hit “Alexander Hamilton” is also the most streamed song, with over a staggering 260 million streams (263,278,557) on Spotify.

As the opening number, the song serves to set the stage for the story of Hamilton in a fusion of different musical genres.
