Timberwise secures big win at Manchester's Property Care Awards

Property care specialists Timberwise are celebrating after scooping a major award.
The Cheshire-based company, which has expanded to run offices in more than 20 UK locations, won the Training and Development award at the Annual Property Care Awards.
The Awards, in their 15th year, were hosted by the Property Care Association (PCA) at Old Trafford. They recognised PCA members for their achievements over the past year, and featured nine awards across three categories.
A long-standing member of the PCA, Timberwise took home the Training and Development award in recognition of its ongoing commitment to professional development for its surveyors, technicians and office-based teams, as well as its investment in training for external clients.
Timberwise missed out on a second win in the Project Awards category, where it was nominated for the Health and Safety award and received a ‘Highly Commended’ trophy.
Commenting on the Training and Development award, George Edwards, CEO of Timberwise, said: “Our win for the Training and Development award has once again proven that the PCA recognises our steadfast commitment to developing our team, equipping them with the skills to work to the highest standards on site, in the office, or wherever they might be. But it is not just technical training we want to encourage at Timberwise. Professional development and making sure our team feels encouraged to progress in their own career is just as important.”
Reflecting on the Health and Safety recognition, Managing Director George Edwards said: “Our nomination for the Property Care Association Health & Safety award is something I am immensely proud of. It is a sure sign that the measures we have in place as a business are working, and that is not something we want to keep to ourselves. This acknowledgement by the PCA affirms that all the work we have done in recent years to make sure Timberwise is not only a leading force when it comes to the quality of our work, but also an industry leader when it comes to health and safety throughout the workplace, is paying off.”
The award win marks a significant milestone in the company’s drive to maintain and enhance its CPD offering while ensuring every colleague has the support to develop teir skills.
And Mr Edwards paid tribute to the Timberwise Training and Development team, its Health and Safety representatives, and the PCA itself for recognising the hard work that goes into making Timberwise not only a better place to work, but a better experience for customers.
Founded in 1968, Timberwise is the UK’s largest family-run specialist property care company and a recognised leader in property remediation and restoration. Historically based in the North West, the company now operates across much of Great Britain, including an expansion into Scotland in 2022.
Timberwise’s approach to health and safety and its commitment to Continuous Professional Development ensures colleagues are trained to deliver safe, high-quality work. Its CPD seminars are accredited by both the PCA and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
