But, how are people in Manchester marking the memorable day?

Aside from the special guest appearances, Coronation Street is teaming up with fellow beloved soap Eastenders.

Long time Corrie character Steve Macdonald (Simon Gregson) comes face-to-face with East End’s Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) to deliver a sketch in this year’s show.

In the sketch, Janine is in search of love and turns to the popular Channel 4 show, First Dates.

The sketch shows Janine on a date with Steve, as they’re served by Fred Sirieix.

Away from the cobbles, a year three class at a school in Worsley, Salford had a no uniform day with most pupils wearing tshirts inspired by Children in Need mascot, Pudsey Bear.

St Cuthbert’s RC Primary School also held a wear your own clothes to school day.

A local bakery business called Makin Cakes & Bakes made boxes of Pudsey Bear themed treats - for every box sold they donated £5 to Children in Need.
