Usually hosted in the lush tropical jungles of Australia, ITV’s ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ has been held at North Wales’ cold and chilly Gwrych Castle for the last two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

A change that Welsh charity ‘The Size of Wales’ feels should be made permanent in a bid to help with the issue of climate change.

Back when the show was hosted in Australia, bosses would fly out at least 12 celebrity contestants to the country which has its own negative effect on the climate.

First class flights heading down under reportedly produce more than 250 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions - one hour of British TV creates 10 tonnes in comparison.

I’m A Celebrity was forced to cancel live shows last weekend after Storm Arwen caused significant damage to the set.

The Size of Wales has called for the show to stop this to lower their carbon footprint.

ITV are yet to make an official comment regarding this matter, but have previously pledged to have net zero carbon emissions by 2030.

The show is still set to return to Australia next year, but if it was decided to stay in the UK - should I’m A Celebrity come to Manchester?
