Former Man Utd winger could join Lionel Messi and David Beckham at Inter Miami

Inter Miami are reportedly keen on signing former Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria this summer. The MLS side are already signing Lionel Messi from PSG and may well swoop for his Argentina international teammate as well as they look to further bolster their squad.

As covered by reporter Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, the American club are ‘considering’ a move for the Juventus man along with midfielder Sergio Busquets from Barcelona. European clubs are also believed to be keen, including Benfica.

United signed Di Maria back in 2014 but he struggled to make an impact during his time at Old Trafford. He spent only a single year in the Premier League and struggled to adapt to life in England.

He made 32 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils, 27 of which came in the league, and he found the net four times. Despite penning a bumper five-year contract and being handed the famous number seven shirt, he was allowed to head out the exit door after just 12 months after PSG came calling.

Prior to his move to United, he had started his career in his native country at Rosario Central before moving over to Europe as a youngster for spells at Benfica and Real Madrid. He spent four campaigns with the latter and was a hit in La Liga, firing in 37 goals in 194 matches altogether.

Di Maria, who is now 35-years-old, stayed at PSG seven years and won the Ligue 1 title five times before joining his current club Juventus last July. He played a key role in Argentina’s World Cup win in Qatar last winter and scored in the final against France.

He now has a big decision to make on what to do next. A move to Miami could be on the cards but his former club Benfica are also in the frame.
