Manchester United have confirmed Anthony Martial will not feature in Saturday’s FA Cup final at Wembley after injuring his hamstring.

The forward sustained the injury in the latter stages of Sunday’s win over Fulham at Old Trafford, as the Red Devils ended their Premier League campaign with a 2-1 win.

A club statement read: “Anthony Martial is out of Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup final against Manchester City due to injury.

“The France international strained his hamstring towards the end of Sunday’s 2-1 win against Fulham at Old Trafford. Assessments have since revealed a muscle tear that rules the 27-year-old out of the Wembley showdown.”

The 27-year-old has made 29 appearances for Erik ten Hag’s side this term, scoring nine goals and providing three assists.

His season has been constantly disrupted by injuries as he missed the first two matches of the Premier League of the campaign, but returned to provide an assist in August’s 2-1 win over Liverpool at Old Trafford.

He has been injury-free since the start of April, scoring in league wins over Wolves and Chelsea earlier this month.

Marcel Sabitzer is also out of Saturday’s game after being ruled out for the season while Lisandro Martinez will also be out of the Wembley showpiece.

Ten Hag said of the defender last week: “I am expecting Lisandro back at the club in the coming days. He will be ready for the start of pre-season.”
