Manchester United have all but finalised a move for summer transfer target Kim Min-jae from Napoli, and a house is already lined up for him to move into.

That’s according to Il Mattino, who report that the defender is set to leave the Serie A side despite only signing with them last year. The Reds are yet to meet with Napoli, but a deal worth €9 million (£7.8m) for Kim’s services is said to be “practically done” and United are willing to pay his €65 million (£56.5m) release clause. A ‘villa’ in the Alderley Edge area has also been made available for the centre-back.

Reports of Kim’s price tag have differed in several reports but the £56.5 million figure is currently the highest documented so far. Man United are also said to be ‘trying’ to include Victor Lindelöf as part of the deal, but Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis will only accept cash at this point.

Kim signed for Napoli last summer from Fenerbahçe and has started almost every league fixture in his debut season. He has also contributed two goals and two assists and picked up just four yellow cards.

Man United are set for a big clear out this summer and players like Lindelöf and Harry Maguire have been listed as vulnerable. Eric Bailly is also no longer required under Erik ten Hag, and veteran Phil Jones will leave the club next month following the expiry of his current deal.

These are just a few names on the potential exit list, which leaves a lot of room for the Reds to revamp their squad and bring in some new personnel. As it stands, they have one foot in next season’s Champions League thanks to Liverpool’s draw against Aston Villa at the weekend. All United need to do is pick up a single point from their last two games of the season and they will secure a top four finish.
