Manchester United fans are still waiting for a takeover of their club after months of speculation.

It seems like an age since the Glazers announced they would be welcoming investment, while also considering the possibility of a full takeover. Bidders have already made themselves known, but there is delay after delay as United fans continue to hope for a takeover to be completed, given their dislike for the Glazers.

As reports continue to emerge, we have rounded up all the latest news concerning a possible takeover at Old Trafford.

Ratcliffe and the rich list

Jim Ratcliffe remains in the running to puchase United having made his interest in buying the club known well before the Glazers made their announcement.

In the meantime, the OGC Nice owner has been named in the latest Times Richlist, which ranks UK-based billionaires and millionaires in order of their wealth. Ratcliffe has been named second on the list, reportedly worth almost £30billion at this point.

Ratcliffe has often been dubbed Britain’s richest man, but it is Gopichand Hinduja who has come out on top in the latest list, worth an astonishing £35billion.

Jassim move

According to The Athletic, Sheikh Jassim has now submitted a bid to buy all of Manchester United.

It’s claimed Jassim has bypassed The Raine Group with his offer, the company who are overseeing the management of the potential investment into the club. It’s a risky move from Jassim, who is said to have been left frustrated by his relationship with the Raine Group.

It will be interesting to see how the Glazers respond to the move, and indeed how they will respond to an offer that, if accepted, would see them step aside altogether.

Delay suggestions

Elsewhere, The Telegraph are reporting that the takeover process could well drag on further.

That will be another frustrating piece of news to hear for United fans, who have already been frustrated by the lack of progress. The report claims the talks could rumble on beyond the current season, which only has just over a week left to run.

The report also adds that there is no indication Ratcliffe will be named as the preferred bidder during the process.
