The restaurant transports visitors to the Amalfi Coast with its array of beautiful flowers for diners to relax beneath and its outdoor heated and covered terrace. Here’s how Salvi’s Deansgate Square is marking 12 months in business and what you need to do if you want to grab a table to be part of the celebrations.

How is Salvi’s Deansgate Square marking its first anniversary?

Salvi’s Deansgate Square is celebrating its first anniversary with events from Sunday 14 May to Thursday 18 May, when there will be a massive birthday bash.

The restaurant, on Owen Street, is one of three venues Salvi’s has in Manchester, the others being the trattoria-style Salvi’s NQ in the Northern Quarter and the Salvi’s Mozzarella Bar at the Corn Exchange near Victoria station. The business is a family-run affair influenced by the kitchens of Naples and the cuisine and ingredients of the southern Italian region of Campania.

The anniversary at Salvi’s Deansgate Square, which takes diners to a slice of the Italian seaside being influenced by the restaurant and eateries which line the Amalfi coastline, is being celebrated with a range of special birthday dishes and drinks.

On Sunday 14 May the celebrations kick off with a beetroot risotto served with a parmesan ice cream made by Oldham-based family-run gelato parlour Grandpa Greene’s and a Negroni Americano, a blend of Campari, vermouth and soda water.

On Monday 15 May diners can try montanara, a crispy fried pizza dough, with lardo and pesto along with the Godfather cocktail made with scotch, whiskey and amaretto. On Tuesday 16 May the birthday offering is an assortment of mini-pizzas and a limoncello mojito, while on Wednesday 17 May it’s a homemade truffle ravioli and a Lambrusco Spritz.

There will also be a second special gelato made thanks to the collaboration between Salvi’s and Grandpa Greene’s which will be served throughout the celebrations, but which is currently being kept under wraps.

Then on Thursday 18 May Salvi’s Deansgate Square will thank its customers for their support throughout the first 12 months with a party including Italian food and drink and entertainment including DJs, sax players, percussionists, and singers.

Salvi’s said launching its new location at Deansgate Square has been a challenge as it opened not long after the lifting of the restrictions on hospitality from the Covid-19 pandemic, and it is keen to bring people together to mark its first major milestone.

Maurizio Cecco from Salvi’s said: “It’s party time here at Salvi’s Deansgate Square! We launched this beautiful venue 12 months ago during such a challenging time for the hospitality industry as a whole, and it is all down to the love and support of all of our customers that we are still here and thriving, so we want to celebrate with them.”
