A Manchester-based netball team is trying to break the record for the most supporters at a Netball Super League home match.

Manchester Thunder will be taking on Leeds Rhinos at the AO Arena on Sunday May 7 and are hoping to get more than 5,959 fans cheering them on to surpass the current record for attendance.

Thunder’s senior team is currently third in the table. The team is full of professional and semi-professional athletes - some of whom have careers alongside their job as netball players, including as doctors and teachers.

We went down to check out a training session ahead of their big match and speak to England and Manchester Thunder captain Natalie Metcalf. We also asked coach Karen Greig about the team's plans to win the record for most supporters at a Netball Super League home match in our video report.
