Ant and Dec: Saturday Night Takeaway hosts post teaser ahead of Britain’s Got Talent return to ITV

Ant and Dec have teased the return of Britain’s Got Talent ahead of the ITV show’s return to screens later this month.

The Geordie duo took to the BGT Instagram account to confirm the talent show’s return while also listing all the previous winners including Paul Potts, Diversity and Spelbound.

“Who will be next?” they asked their 881,000 followers.

Momentum is building as the new series of Britain’s Got Talent is set to start on Saturday 15 April  at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX. It will feature a new line-up of judges including, ex Strictly Come Dancing judge, Bruno Tonioli, 67.

Bruno will join Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden after David Walliams was forced to step down after 10 years of being on the judging team. The comedian handed in his notice as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent in 2022 after he was discovered to have made a number of disrespectful comments about contestants on the show

According to a leaked transcript seen by The Guardian, Walliams referred to an older performer as a “c***” three times when he was out of earshot, following an unsuccessful audition.

Last year, the comedian, 51, apologised for making “disrespectful comments” about auditioning contestants during breaks in filming the show in January 2020.

There has been disputes over Bruno’s paycheck as a new judge.It was reported that Bruno had started on a massive £850,000 salary, sparking protests from fellow judges Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon who had been judging the show for over 10 years.

Bruno Tonioli also reportedly threw Britain’s Got Talent auditions into chaos when he pressed his Golden Buzzer twice, before admitting he’d never even watched the show.

A source has since claimed that he is still causing problems for show bosses as a result of him constantly getting up from his seat. The former Strictly Come Dancing judge is famed for his lively presenting style but this caused a technical blunder for crew on the show as he keeps going out of frame.

A source told The Mirror: “Bruno is a firecracker and constantly jumping up and down. The crowd loves it, Simon loves it... but the camera operators, less so.”

Now in its 16th series, Britain’s Got Talent will return to screens later this month as acts battle it out for the chance to scoop the £250,000 prize and perform at the Royal Variety Performance.

Fans took to Instagram to comment on the announcement of the new show.
