Filming is underway for an adaptation of another Harlan Coben book in Manchester.

The American thriller writer’s eight-parter Fool Me Once is being shot by Quay Street productions in the city and stars Joanna Lumley and Stockport-born former Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan. Filming started last month and author Harlan has been in Manchester this week along with Lumley, and he says everyone on set was bowled over by how ‘down to earth and kind’ the veteran actress is.

He quipped: “Everyone on set just loves her. I was up on set in Manchester yesterday and they were all giddy over how nice she was – and they’re all hoping for a scene with Joanna Lumley.”

Fool Me Once tells the story of a combat pilot (played by Keegan) whose husband is murdered - but there are lots of twists and turns along the way. Coben is executive producing the project and will be back and forth between Manchester and his US home while production is ongoing.

It’s not the first time Coben has filmed in Manchester. Previous Netflix hit The Stranger was filmed in places including Ancoats, Bolton and Stockport. Other Coben productions seen on Netflix include Stay Close, Safe, The Five and The Woods.
