Manchester United head into Sunday evening’s clash with Everton looking to bounce back from last weekend’s derby defeat at the hands of Manchester City.

The 6-3 loss at the Etihad ended a run of four top-flight consecutive wins for the Reds Devils, and left Erik ten Hag’s side sixth in the table, with 12 points from seven matches.

For their part, the Toffees have shown an improvement in their own form of late, and are unbeaten in their last six league outings, with last Sunday’s 1-0 win over West Ham United representing their second consecutive victory.

Before United make the trip to Goodison Park, however, there is still plenty of transfer speculation to work through...

Barcelona want Dalot

La Liga giants Barcelona are set to “prioritise” the signing of United right-back Diogo Dalot next summer, according to Sport.

The Spanish side are understood to be in the market for a new full-back, and have identified the Portuguese star as one potential option. Indeed, the publication’s front page spread on their interest claims that club chiefs have made the 23-year-old ‘first on the list’ of possible acquisitions.

It is also suggested that ‘first approaches’ have been made, with contact already under way between Barca and the player’s representatives.

Dalot’s current deal at Old Trafford is due to expire in 2023, but United have the option to extend his stay by an extra year, should they choose to exercise it.

United eye Dumfries deal

United are reportedly planning a ‘new assault’ to sign Inter Milan full-back Denzel Dumfries, according to CalcioMercato.

The Dutch defender is said to be ‘in the crosshairs’ of a number of top European sides, with the Red Devils emerging as one particularly notable suitor.

The Italian outlet claim that United are readying themselves to ‘snatch’ the 26-year-old away from the San Siro in the coming months, and are willing to offer out-of-favour talent Aaron Wan-Bissaka as a ‘counterpart’ in any potential deal.

It is argued, however, that Inter’s response to any proposal involving the Englishman would be negative, with the Serie A giants only interested in an agreement that would monetise Dumfries’ exit.
