The long summer break from Premier League football is over, and Manchester City are back and ready to defend the Premier League title they regained from Liverpool last season.

City open with a tricky looking fixture away at West Ham United, a side who will have their own ambitious hopes for the season ahead.

Manchester City’s visit to the capital kicks off at 4.30pm on Sunday, 7 August 2022.

For those who were unable to get a ticket to the match at the London Stadium, there is good news.

The match will be shown live and in full on Sky Sports Main Event from 4pm on 7 August.

When can I watch match highlights?

Highlights of City’s trip to West Ham will be available to watch  on Sky Sports following the match on both Sky Sports News and the Sky Sports App.

Highlights of the match will also be available to view on BBC One on Match of The Day 2 which begins at 10.30pm on Sunday, 7 August.

Is there Manchester City team news?

As it is the first match of the season, City fans could see a number of the new signings in action.

Guardiola could give debuts to Erling Haaland and Stefan Ortega this weekend and it is likely City will line up with a 4-3-3 formation which could also include fellow new man Kalvin Phillips.
