Manchester United are already pressing ahead with their summer plans ahead of the new season.

The Red Devils will be looking to put a disappointing campaign in the rear-view mirror heading into the new campaign, and they found out their fixtures for the 2022/23 season on Thursday.

Erik ten Hag will be eyeing a strong start to the campaign, but he has a lot of work to do to get his men ready to compete for the top four.

United were some way off in the season just gone, and it’s clear new signings - and indeed outgoings - are required.

With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours.

Vitinha race

United are said to be locked in a race to sign FC Porto star Vitinha this summer.

The Portugal international is being linked with a move away from the Dragons this summer, the 22-year-old impressing for club and country.

United and Arsenal are said to be vying, with a £34.1million release clause believed to be in the player’s contract.

But Porto chief Pinto da Costa has now revealed that a bid has been rejected.

“There was a concrete offer of considerable value by Vitinha that we did not accept, and we refer to the termination clause,” he said, as per the Express.

“It’s the only way to take the player. Fans can rest easy. The bid was high but below the clause. If they come with a euro below the clause, he doesn’t leave.”

Pogba latest

Paul Pogba is said to be closing in on a move to Juventus ahead of his United deal expiring.

According to Sky Sports, the Frenchman’s representatives are now finalising a four-year deal ahead of the midfielder’s free transfer.

In the meantime, Pogba has hit out at United in his documentary ‘The Pogmentary’.

Speaking to former agent Mino Raiola, he said of United: “They’re bluffing. How can you tell a player you absolutely want him and offer him nothing? Never seen that.”

Cavani decision

Edinson Cavani is another player looking for a new club, ahead of his contract coming expiring at the end of this month.

The striker is now 35 years of age, so a new club might not be quite as easy to come by as in his heydey, but according to Mundo Deportivo, he has decided he wants to play in La Liga.

Cavani has already played in Uruguay, Italy, France and England, and it seems Spain could be the last box he wants to tick off.
