As for Peterborough, they were on the receiving end of a 3-0 defeat to Hull City on Saturday, their third league defeat in as many games.

The Posh’s form in the Championship has been poor with no wins in their last six matches, leaving them bottom of the second tier.

The sides head into the game 43 places apart in the English football pyramid, with City top of the Premier League, while Peterborough 24th in the Championship.

This will be only the second meeting between City and the Posh with the former beating the latter 1-0 in the same round of the FA Cup in 1981.

The Spaniard added that Zack Steffen is the only member of his squad who won’t be in contention to start, leading to a dilemma as to who will start between the sticks.

“No. Some knocks, but today everyone trained,” Guardiola said.

“Zack Steffen - Not yet [will he be back]. He is still in the gym.

“[We will] Decide tomorrow with Xabi [goalkeeper coach Mancisidor] [on who will play in goal]. Tomorrow we’ll talk about that.”
