Although many see the festive period as a good moment to spend quality time with our family, one in five divorced couples said it was the hardest time of the year for their relationship, according to law firm Slater & Gordon.

Furthermore, 17.6% of those surveyed from Manchester revealed that Christmas was the hardest time for their relationship.

Sadly, 12.9% said Christmas spelt the end for their marriage.

Georgina Chase, Head of Family Law at Slater & Gordon, has seen the struggles Christmas can cause to relationships and shares her advice to marriages that might be reaching breaking point.
