After Storm Arwen caused disruption to roads, rail and power in parts of Greater Manchester at the weekend and brought snow showers in its wake, the city-region looks to be in for more bleak weather this week.

Here’s the breakdown on the latest weather updates for Manchester from Wednesday to Sunday.

Tonight

The consistent showers throughout the day will subside as we go into the evening, leaving it cold and dry with clear skies. After midnight showers will affect southern areas with sleet and snow in some parts.

Temperatures will drop as low as -1°C.

Thursday

Thursday will start off with isolated wintry showers, however most of the day will be dry and cold. In hilly areas there may be rain and snow in the evening.

Temperatures will be a maximum of 5°C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday

The wintry weather looks set to continue into the weekend. Carrying on from the night, Friday will see rain and hill snow, however, this will clear quickly.

The rest of Friday will be dry with some bright spells, until the evening when rain is set to return.

The rest of the weekend is set to be rather unsettled throughout the region. Saturday is set to be windy and rainy.

Sunday is set to have a drier start with showers easing off in the morning. There will be some isolated showers across the region but most places will experience sunny spells and dry weather.
