Manchester weather: Sun shining for now but Met Office forecast suggests rain will return- here’s when

Many people across Manchester will have enjoyed the sunny weather today. The rain has kept away for a few days now- but we best make the most of it whilst we can. 

The latest Met Office weather forecast paints a wet picture for Manchester for the coming weekend. If you are out and about, it will be best to be prepared.

Today has seen temperatures across the region reach up to 27C. August 11 will be much of the same, with a warm day of 23C on the cards. 

The rain looks set to come on Saturday afternoon, with a chance of showers possible through the afternoon. This will be more of the same on Sunday, with more of a mixed bag possible. 

Many people will be descending on Old Trafford for Manchester United’s opening game of the season on Monday night. The forecast suggests this will be a rainy evening- a trend which looks set to stick around for most of the weekend.

Grey and damp conditions will clear to leave a dry day with light southerly winds and very warm sunshine. Turning cloudier with a risk of showers from the west later. Maximum temperature 26C

Cloud increasing from the west through the evening, with rain spreading northeast overnight, turning heavy at times. A mild night, and feeling muggy. Minimum temperature 17C.

August 11

Turning brighter from the west as the rain clears northeast, leaving a day of sunshine and showers, these often heavy and thundery into the afternoon. Feeling fresher than Thursday. Maximum temperature 22C.

Remaining changeable over the weekend and into the start of next week with sunshine and showers, these turning heavy and thundery at times, and a cooler westerly breeze.
