The Met Office warning is set to come into effect at 3am on Thursday (March 9). It will remain in place until around 6pm on Friday (March 10).

Cold temperatures will be felt across Manchester for most of the week though. The coldest the mercury is expected to  drop to is 4C on Wednesday (March 8).

However, the ‘feels like’ temperature is likely to drop well below freezing  meaning it will be feeling much chillier. On Tuesday (March 7) it may feel as cold as -3C in some parts of the city.

Fortunately warmer temperatures look set to return very soon. According to the Met Office, Manchester could experience temperatures of 12C as early as Sunday (March 12).
