Christmas is now just days away, and attention across Manchester is turning to the big day. Many of us will be heading out and about for last minute gifts, the big food shop, or to go and visit family and friends.
With plenty of journeys to be made by car, public transport, or foot, the all important weather forecast is something to keep in mind. The run up to Christmas looks set to be a mixed bag of weather, with rain, sun and wind all in the forecast.

Hide AdChristmas Eve is set to have a wet start with heavy showers expected from around 6am. The showers will ease through the day and by 9pm conditions will be dry- meaning that when Santa Claus comes to the region, he should be able to keep dry.
Christmas Day looks set to be cool and dry across Manchester, with a high of 10C. Rain will come later in the day, but should hold off until around 6pm.
Boxing Day will be cooler once again, with an overnight temperature of around 3C. If you are out and about during the day, you shouldn't be hindered by any showers.

A grey and cloudy day with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, most persistent across west-facing hills. Still windy with coastal gales but feeling rather mild in any sheltered spots. Maximum temperature 10C.

December 23
Another cloudy and blustery day with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, becoming more persistent from the north through the evening. Temperatures above average. Maximum temperature 11C.
Cloudy and blustery on Christmas Eve with rain and drizzle. Becoming drier during Christmas Day with sunny spells and isolated showers, before turning cooler with further rain on Boxing Day.
