Manchester Met Office weather forecast as thousands head to Pride and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds

August Bank Holiday weekend looks set to be jam packed in Manchester, with multiple big events taking place. Manchester Pride Festival will run throughout the weekend, with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds performing a huge outdoor gig at Wythenshawe Park on August 26. 

With both of these events taking place outside, all of you attending will probably have one eye on the weather forecast. With the weekend almost here, the latest Met Office outlook is available.

In all, the weekend looks to be a bit of a mixed bag. Friday will be relatively warm with a high of 17C. However heavy showers will be on the cards for most of the day. 

Saturday will be the busiest day in Manchester this weekend, with Man Utd’s match against Nottingham Forest also taking place at 3pm at Old Trafford. The weather looks set to be pretty wet on Saturday, with showers possibly heavier in the afternoon during the time of the Manchester Pride Parade. 

According to the Met Office, the rain is set to ease through the evening. This means that conditions should dry up slightly in time for the Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds gig at Wythenshawe Park. at 7pm, there is currently a 10% chance of light rain and showers around Manchester.

August 25

A mixture of sunshine and scattered showers through the day. Some of the showers may be heavy and locally thundery, with the risk of hail. Breezy and feeling rather cool. Maximum temperature 19C.

The chance of showers continues this evening and overnight. Some of these will remain heavy with a low chance of the odd thunderstorm. Breezy at times on the coasts. Minimum temperature 10C.

August 26

Another day of sunshine and showers, these often heavy with a chance of thunder. Perhaps turning somewhat drier later. Rather cool for late August, but feeling reasonable in any sunshine. Maximum temperature 19C.

Bright to start Sunday, then clouding over with some rain possible later. Warmer and brighter on Monday with sunny spells. Further showery rain arriving on Tuesday. Breezy at times.
