The festivities are set to continue across Greater Manchester this week- but if you are out and about you best be prepared. Wind and heavy rain is set to hit the region before 2023 is out.

The Met Office has issued various weather warnings across the country for the coming days- with Greater Manchester not set to escape. A yellow rain warning will come into effect at 3am on Wednesday December 27 and will remain in place until at least 6pm.

During the warning, heavy rain will batter the region, and wind gusts of almost 40mph will add to the poor conditions. The warning comes just days after the region was hit by strong winds from Storm Pia which caused travel disruption across the country before Christmas.

The winds will ease on December 28, but heavy rain will still be lingering throughout the morning. The only reprieve is that we may see a bit more sunshine as the final days of the year roll by.
