Given the heightened possibility of wind and rain around the UK this week, many people in Manchester will be wondering whether or not it is a smart idea to attend a local fireworks display this weekend. Numerous locations across the city will offer fireworks displays to commemorate Guy Fawkes Night on November 5.
This year, Bonfire Night falls on a Saturday, making it easy for more people to head out to a display. This year’s events are also highly anticipated by many as this is the first time they are held in full force following a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

Today:
Along with stronger gusts, it will be dry with sunny spells at first, but will become cloudier before a belt of heavy rain approaches early afternoon. Winds are picking up across the board, with coastal gales forecast. The maximum temperature is 14°C.
Tonight:
A squally band of rain will shortly clear, followed by clear intervals and sporadic showers from the west tonight. Winds are also calming down. The minimum temperature is 4°C.

Friday November 4, Bonfire Night and Sunday November 6
According to the Met Office, on Friday (November 4) to Sunday (November 6), Manchester will have a drier and brighter start on Friday before a chilly night into Saturday with a risk of frost, with unsettled weather on the card.
In a more detailed forecast, the Met Office said on Saturday (November 5) Manchester is expected to experience heavy rain at noon, followed by light rain at 3pm. The evening is likely to continue with light rain at 6pm, but should clear by 9pm, when most firework displays are scheduled to start. The day’s maximum temperature is 12°C.
On Sunday (November 6), showers are anticipated throughout the day with temperatures near normal.
