Temperatures look set to remain in the low teens throughout the day, and the weather itself looks likley to be sunny at times but wet at others.

The top temperature of 13C will be felt around much of the afternoon and could drop to as low as 10C by tonight.

The day will end with dry spells following some possible heavy showers in the mid afternoon.

All in all, it looks likley to be a mixed bag of a day.

The temperature will remain steady throughout the evening and into the night, remaining slightly under 10C.

Tomorrow looks set to be colder once again, with a top temperature of just 13C.

The Met Office has issued their summary for the coming few days across the North West of England.

Some sunny breaks but also spells of showery rain. This is most likely towards the south, feeding in on the blustery northwesterly winds. Feeling autumnal again, especially in the wind. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

Perhaps a few showers continuing, mainly around the coast. Otherwise a dry night with lengthy spells of clear skies under which it will turn chilly as the winds ease. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Wednesday:

After a mostly dry and bright but chilly start, it is likely to turn cloudier through the morning with a little rain possible during the afternoon. Lighter winds than recently. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Some showery rain on Thursday before clear skies mean a chilly night with a localised frost. Wind and rain spreading from the west on Friday, clearing to showers on Saturday.

The Met Office have issued their long range weather forecast for the period from Tuesday 27 September to Thursday 6 October.

A generally unsettled start to the period across the UK with a mixture of bright or sunny spells, showers and occasional longer spells of rain. Most persistent rain may affect the east at first and will become more likely for the west later.

Any drier and brighter spells are most probable for central and southern regions. Often windy, with gales possible at times, mainly across the north and east. Into October, the conditions are likely to remain changeable with further frontal systems spreading from the west and northwest at times.

Wettest conditions with periods of strong winds likely in the west, driest weather in the southeast. Temperatures rather cold at first, particularly across the north, but becoming close to or just above normal by the end of the period.
