For some United fans, news of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s departure couldn’t come soon enough after a woeful string of results.

But there has also been an outpouring of respect for Ole the man and former player - and an acknowledgement that not all the club’s problems centre from the manager.

Former United team-mates have also taken to social media to wish Solskjaer their best following his sacking.
