Two officers with Greater Manchester Police (GMP) will appear in court after being charged with making or distributing an indecent image of a child.

Cameron Barker, 26, and 39-year-old James Williams, who are both police constables in Manchester, have been accused of the offence.

They will both appear on Thursday 14 July at Tameside Magistrates’ Court.

The charge is related to an image that is alleged to have been exchanged between the pair in March 2019.

Both Barker and Williams have been suspended by GMP’s Professionals Standards Branch pending the outcome of criminal proceedings and any subsequent misconduct hearing.
