LGBTQ+: Pride in Trafford opens with flag-raise on International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia

Today (17 May) on International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, a Greater Manchester borough began its annual Pride celebrations with a ceremonial flag-raise. Trafford Council and leaders of Pride in the borough gathered at Sale Town Hall on Wednesday 17 May and held an opening ceremony for the four-day arts festival celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.

The event included a choir performance from local primary school children, and speeches from leaders in the borough, as well as the ceremonial raise of the Pride flag.

Pride in Trafford will be running from Wednesday 17 to Saturday 20 May at Sale Waterside and brings together an exciting range of performances for Mancunians to get involved with. There will be cabaret, comedy, theatre and artwork running throughout the festival, to celebrate queer artists and LGBTQ+ identity.
