The closure has sparked frustration among Oldham drivers. The town recently endured closures and temporary traffic lights on Oldham Way for more than eighteen months.
Essential works were carried out along the highway to ‘future-proof’ Oldham’s roads after ‘structural issue’ were discovered in many of the town’s fly-overs.
One frustrated resident, who uses the road for an early commute to Salford, commented in an Oldham Traffic group: “At this rate I’ll have to go via Dukinfield to get to work, shambles.”
Another said: “God, when will this be over!!”
The roads should be fully open by Tuesday, July 30.
