Manchester road closures this week: full list of roadworks and diversions in February and March 2022

Manchester’s motorists will have 23 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And 16 of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 16 closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 8.30pm February 27 to 5am February 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 18 to junction 19 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

• A5103, from 8pm February 26 to 5am February 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A5103 southbound, M60 to M56 - Lane closure for signs - Erection.

• M56, from 8pm February 26 to 5am February 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 westbound, J2 to J5 - Lane closure for signs - Erection.

• A5103, from 9pm February 26 to 5am February 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 4 to junction 6 - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

• M60, from 5am December 6 2021 to 6am March 1 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 3 to A34 southbound, lane closures due to barrier repairs.

• M60, from 9pm February 27 to 3am March 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J3 to J2 - Hard Shoulder Only for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

• M60, from 7.30am February 21 to 5am March 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J21 to J20 - Lane closure for drainage.

• M60, from 8pm January 28 to 5am April 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise A34 NB to M60, junction 3 CW access slip - carriageway closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

• M60, from 9pm January 28 to 5am April 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise J21 to J22 - carriageway closure for Construction - Bridge/Structure.

• M60, from 8pm December 20 2021 to 5am April 9 2022, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 5 to 3 lane closures and slip road closure due to barrier repairs.

• M56, from 8.30pm February 27 to 6am April 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 2 - three lane closures and slip road closures due to barrier repairs.

• M56, from 8.30pm December 13 2021 to 6am April 9 2022, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 2 - three lane closures and slip road closures due to barrier repairs.

• A5103, from 9pm January 1 to 11pm May 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): Manchester City Embargo - two hours before game.

• A5103, from midday, January 1 to 11pm May 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): Manchester City Embargo = two hours after game.

• M56, from midday, January 4 to 11.59pm December 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 4 to junction 3A - Hard Shoulder Only for Structure maintenance.

• M56, from 1pm January 4 to 11.59pm December 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 westbound, A5103 to J3A - Hard Shoulder Only for Structure - maintenance.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A5103, from 9pm February 28 to 5am March 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J5 to J6 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

• A5103, from 9pm February 28 to 5am March 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 5 to 1 - carriageway closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.

• M60, from 5am March 1 to 5am April 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 3 entry slip road lane closures due to barrier repairs.

• M60, from 9pm March 1 to 5am April 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise A34 J3 to M60 CW and ACW - carriageway closure for barriers.

• M60, from 9pm March 6 to 5am March 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise A34 northbound, to J3 - carriageway closure for barriers - Permanent.

• A5103, from 8pm March 9 to 6am March 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J5 to J5 - carriageway closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

• M60, from 8pm March 9 to 6am March 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 2 - four Lane closures and slip road closures for communications.

• National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
