Barlow Moor Road in Chorlton will be closed over a three-week period. This will start on Monday July 29, when a section of Barlow Moor Road between Wilbraham Road and High Lane will be closed for one week.
Work will take place between 7am and 5pm on weekdays, and 8am and 5pm on the weekend. Traffic will be affected even during non-working hours, but when work is being carried out there will be marshals present to assist continued access for residents as well as deliveries for businesses. Signposted diversions will also be in place.

Barley Moor Road will then be closed for a two week period from Monday August 5. This will be between Maudleth Road West and High Lane. Working hours and marshalled periods will be the same as during the first week of resurfacing work.
Councillor Tracey Rawlins, Executive Member for Environment and Transport, said: “For anyone who travels through south Manchester Barlow Moor Road is a key transportation route and, as a result, its maintenance is vitally important. While I am sure that residents will enjoy the benefits that this resurfacing work will no doubt bring, it will of course result in some level of disruption for residents, businesses and motorists.
“Sadly this will be unavoidable, but this is why extensive work has taken place to alert people well in advance, as well as the range of measures put in place such as traffic marshals and diversions to try and reduce disruption as much as possible. I would like to thank people in advance for their patience during the course of these works.”
