More than 100 individuals and businesses have been shortlisted for gongs at this year’s This is Manchester Awards. The event, at Emirates Old Trafford on November 9, aims to celebrate the incredible talent across Greater Manchester in a range of fields.

All the nominees submitted nominations across 15 highly-contested categories representing the night-time economy, entertainment, arts and culture, technology, live events, and fashion with entries all qualified and reviewed independently by our judging panel presided over by chief judge Nazir Afzal, former Chief Crown Prosecutor for North West England.

And, new for 2023 and created in partnership with the late presenter’s family and close friends, The ‘Dianne Oxberry Special Impact Award’ has a shortlist of 10 recipients, the winner of which has been chosen in partnership with Dianne’s husband Ian Hindle and the trust.

The honour will recognise an individual that has faced adversity and won and, by doing so, has left a lasting legacy across the region.

Awards founder and organiser Ziara Siddique, said; “We’ve literally received hundreds of real entries for this year's awards – we’ve been totally bowled over by the sheer standard and numbers are bigger and stronger each year.  It’s amazing to be able to showcase all the incredible talent from across the region.

“I’m also incredibly humbled to have the support of Dianne Oxberry’s family for this year's very special award that we know will do her legacy proud.”
