A long, hot summer awaits us and critically acclaimed city centre restaurant Climat is set to launch some much anticipated outdoor dining with the official launch of its roof terrace - offering dazzling views over the city.

Climat opened last year and was catapulted into the spotlight following a glowing review from esteemed food critic Jay Rayner.

With a late summer launch (date to be confirmed) the restaurant will add a new string to its bow - offering al fresco food with an impressive vantage point. Nestled on the 8th floor of Black Friars House the open-air terrace provides panoramic views of Manchester and beyond.

Climat pairs casual dining and ‘Parisian-expat food’ with contemporary, minimalist aesthetics, as well as over 300 wines to choose from with a focus on Burgundy’s.

Minimalist interiors and stonewash walls allow the views to be the main visual attraction, while the overall contemporary Parisian-style interiors and large wine cellar echo the restaurant’s wine-led menu.

Serving over 400 different wines, 40% of which lean towards the region of Burgundy, Cellar Manager, Jerome Boullier, is on hand, along with his cellar team, to offer insight on suggested pairings or share their appreciation of a good cuvée.

The outdoor terrace ensures that guests can enjoy the impressive cityscape from all aspects of the restaurant, providing the perfect spot for last-minute drinks all-year round.

Here guests can also find four beehives, as well as a range of ‘bee-friendly’plants and once the hives are established, the honey will feature in dishes on the menu.

Restaurant owner, Christopher Laidler, said: “The response to our official opening so far has been beyond words. A lot of hard work has gone into the refurbishment of the space and making our vision come to life, so we couldn’t be happier with the initial feedback we had. Our stellar kitchen and restaurant team should be extremely proud of themselves.”

“Between our outdoor terrace and exciting entrance which leads guests straight to what is arguably one of the city’s best hidden views, we’ve created something really special here in Manchester. We want Climat to essentially become the ideal Manchester location to enjoy good food, good wine and good company, and we’re all really looking forward to the future.”

Climat is open seven days a week and is located on the 8th floor of Blackfriars House in Manchester.
