The Boxing Day walk; a tradition celebrated by over-stuffed families all over the country. After days of feasting, nothing feels better than a walk in the fresh air but it’s also an occasion to showcase all the new gear from Christmas.

Living in the city centre comes with many perks, however one downside is the lack of green space available. But with the Peaks less than an hour away, there are plenty of options within easy reach.

Previous lockdowns have highlighted the importance of being able to get out in the fresh air and what difference it can make for both our mental and physical health.

According to the Ramblers, walking improves self-esteem, mood and sleep quality, and it reduces stress, anxiety and fatigue. But do the people of Manchester prefer to walk in the city or find some green space? We asked them for our video report.
