Greater Manchester business leaders and entrepreneurs dominated the latest Insider North West Rich List.
There are some familiar names and companies on the 2023 list, including Jonathan Warburton and family, owners of the Bolton-based Warburton’s bakery, who came in at 18th, and the highest-ranking Mancunians, Fred and Peter Done, the founders of BetFred, who are third richest in the North West, according to the list. The Salford-born brothers co-founded their betting company, which later became known as Betfred, in 1967. They later went on to also found Peninsula Business Services. They have increased their net worth by £800m, rising from £1.450bn in 2022 to £2.25bn in 2023.
The only new entry for 2023 was the founders of sportswear brand Castore, Tom and Phil Beahon. The 33 and 30-year old are based in Manchester and made a name for themselves earlier this year at the Ashes by providing the gear for England's cricket team.

1. Fred and Peter Done
BetFred founders Fred and Peter Done are the third richest people in the North West, according to Insider. They have seen the biggest rise in net worth, jumping £800m from £1.450bn in 2022 to £2.25bn in 2023.
2. Henry Moser and family
Henry Moser is the owner, founder and CEO of the Cheadle-based Together Financial Services. He is the sixth richest person in the North West, according to Insider, with a net worth of £1.637bn.
3. John Whittaker and family
John Whittaker (far left) is the chairman of the Manchester-based Peel Group. He is the seventh richest person in the North West, according to Insider, with a net worth of £1.6bn.
4. Peter Jones and family
Peter Jones is the founder and chairman of the Alderly Edge-based Emerson Group. He is the eighth richest person in the North West, according to Insider, with a net worth of £1.37bn.
