Tameside: Body of a man found near motorway in Greater Manchester - this is what we know so far

The body of a man has been found by a road in Denton, Greater Manchester.

The man was found in the early hours of this morning (15 September) on Lance Corporal Andrew Breeze Way in Tameside.

Greater Manchester Police were called to the scene following a report regarding the welfare of a man.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “On Thursday 15 September 2022 at around 4am we received a report regarding the concern for the welfare of a man on Lance Corporal Andrew Breeze Way, Denton.

“Despite the best efforts of emergency services, sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Greater Manchester Police also said that they believe there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

The spokesperson added: “There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances around this as enquiries continue.”

The police added that the road and surrounding roads were closed for around three hours this morning while emergency services were at the scene.

Where is Lance Corporal Andrew Breeze Way?

The road on which the man was found is located in Tameside and runs adjacent to the M67 motorway which runs from the M60 through Greater Manchester and towns including Denton and Hyde.
