A member of legendary Manchester band The Smiths is headlining at a one day festival at MediaCity championing mental health.

There will be a DJ set from the iconic Mike Joyce of The Smiths, as well as sets from Twisted Tubes, Remake Remodel and DJ J’Adora with Amber Jordan.

MediaCity, in partnership with much loved family brewers Seven Bro7hers and ice cream company A Few Scoops, is joining forces with men’s charity MenTell which supports mental health across all ages.

There will be a number of kids’ activities being held, highlighting mental health for children and the importance of exercise.

Children and adults can get a temporary affirmation tattoo by Born to Be Wild to remember the important work and events of the day.

MenTell provides circles for men aged 18+ to talk in a safe and confidential space, free from advice and judgement.

This ground-breaking charity originated in Stockport with just seven participants in 2017 and has since gone nationwide, helping over 3,500 men.

The festival aims to highlight the important work that MenTell does within our communities, whilst providing a fun and relaxing day out with friends and family.

Turn The Box Blue will be held at the Box At The Docks, the pop-up complex on the piazza at MediaCity, on August 19 from 10am.
