Plans have been submitted for a huge logistics and industrial hub in Salford. Peel Waters has put forward the scheme for the 100,000 sq ft development on a brownfield site previously used as a waste recycling facility off Liverpool Road in Eccles.

Peel says the site ‘designed to Grade A specification’ would be split across eight units raining from 4,338 sq ft to 40,000 sq ft ‘providing a range of industrial and logistics space to suit a variety of businesses’. The land and property giants also says the scheme, named Halo West, has been designed to make full use of its strategic location next to J11 on the M60, allowing future users of the site access within minutes to the ring motorway, and from there the major routes of the M62 and M6.

Peel Waters’ logistics development director Peter Linstead said: “We are pleased to be submitting this planning application for Halo West; a best-in-class development with excellent connectivity. The development of this brownfield site will create local employment opportunities and enable businesses to serve both the local and wider region by making best use of the location, local infrastructure and the scheme’s strategic proximity to the motorway network.”

The architects working on the project are AEW, the quantity surveyor is Langton Development Services and the planning specialist is WSP
