The United winger, who was named an MBE for his campaigning for those in need, set Kerridge a task, to create a the meals due to Rashford’s previous memories in life of visiting a local food bank on Christmas morning.

Rashford has been very open about his mother’s struggles growing up. He has labelled her as his ‘hero’ in the past, and says growing up his family “relied” on his local food bank, to enable them to have a Christmas dinner.

How does it work then?

The meals have been created in line with the government’s Healthy Start Vouchers, but Kerridge said that if you didn’t use the vouchers, it would still only cost around £13, so it can be beneficial for anyone, and still uses traditional Christmas ingredients.

As well as feeding everyone on Christmas Day, the deal can also be used for leftovers on Boxing Day.

The two-meal menu consists of a turkey roll, with stuffing, potatoes and carrots.

It has been estimated that 2.3 million children “went to bed hungry in the past month” and that parents had to choose whether to feed their kids, or keep them warm.
