King Charles III has approved Monday 19 September as a bank holiday as Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral has now been confirmed for that date.

As the people of Manchester mourn Her Majesty’s death many shops and key services will have their opening hours adjusted.

Although the day has officially been named a bank holiday, the traditional opening and closing times are likely to differ from what we’d traditionally see on such a day.

This includes local Post Offices in Manchester, as it has been confirmed Royal Mail will take special action across the country.

Post Office outlets in Manchester, as well as across the country, will all be closed on Monday 19 September out of respect for Her Majesty on the day of her funeral.

Royal Mail services will also be suspended for the entirety of the day, so it is worth getting your letters and parcels sorted in advance.

What are the Post Office opening times on the weekend before the Queen’s funeral?

There are ten Post Offices dotted in and around Manchester city centre and the opening times vary for each on the weekend before the Queen’s funeral.
