That night, police were initially made aware of that that the two men had been brought into hospital with gunshot wounds. Then, at around 12:55am, police received reports of gunshot sounds on Caythorpe Street.

Since the shooting, police have issued several warrants that have led to the questioning in custody of a number of people. Mobile phones have also been seized for forensic analysis.

However, more information is still needed and police believe that someone among the 300-400 community members present that day may be able to provide answers. They will reward £50,000 to anyone that can provide information that will lead to a conviction.

Detective Chief Inspector and Senior Investigating Officer, Neil Higginson, said: “I am sad to say that in this period we haven’t been able to get the justice the families deserve. I still believe that we can achieve this, but I know that we require the help of the public to do so.

“We have a good understanding of what occurred that night and we do have an outstanding suspect, but we need more evidence. This evidence could be provided to us by people who were present when the murders occurred or those who have possession of mobile phone footage from that night.

“We know most people who were present were there to enjoy themselves and not cause trouble, as it showed many people present at the gathering. So, we are certain that they will have vital detail that can help in our investigation in the events leading up to, during or after the murder. Our focus is to obtain this key evidence so that we can convict the person responsible for the murders.

“I understand that people can be reluctant to come forward in this type of case, for a variety of reasons, but I ask that you do so. Please see it that you will be helping the families who are desperate for justice.

“I or my team will meet you at any time or place. Please allow us the opportunity to talk through what support we can provide you to increase your confidence in us. I can also say that we can now offer a £50,000 reward to anyone who can assist with giving us key information which leads to the successful conviction of those responsible.”
