Police arrest 12-year-old after girl, 11, stabbed before school in Blackley, Manchester

A 12-year-old has been arrested after an 11-year-old girl was stabbed in a shocking incident before school in Manchester.

Police attended Chapel Lane in Blackley after receiving reports of a stabbing at around 8.30am on Monday 28 March.

They found an 11-year-old girl with a small laceration to the top of her shoulder. She was taken to hospital as a precaution and has since been discharged.

A 12-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of assault.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

Greater Manchester has been rocked by a spate of high-profile knife crime incidents this year, with a number of young people tragically losing their lives in fatal stabbings.
