Police appeal for witnesses after man found dead

Police are appealing for information after a 36-year-old man was found dead in Moss Side, with two men arrested and released on bail as enquiries continue.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the discovery of a man’s body in Moss Side last week.

At around 8.30am on Wednesday, August 6, officers were called to Great Western Street, where they sadly found the deceased man. Specialist officers are supporting his family during this difficult time.

As part of their investigation, Greater Manchester Police arrested a 56-year-old man on Friday August 8 on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, and a 38-year-old man on Tuesday August 12 on suspicion of manslaughter. Both have since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detectives are keeping an open mind as they work to establish a timeline of events and the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, which remain unexplained.

It is believed he attended an address on Greenheys Lane, Hulme, in the early hours of Wednesday morning, leaving at around 1.30am.
