Piccadilly Gardens fight: man arrested on suspicion of GBH in Manchester

Police say one man is in custody following an incident in the city centre.

A man has been arrested after reports of a fight in Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester.

Officers attended the gardens at 10.20pm on Monday (25 April) and one man in his 30s was taken to hospital for treatment to a head wound.

He was discharged on Tuesday.

Police have now arrested a 40-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

He was in custody on Wednesday and police enquiries are ongoing.
